Summary History Calendar Teams

Combine the two franchises Wranglers and Outlaws in a single summary is not a shortcut but a bold historical logic.

Founded in 1983, the Arizona Wranglers team proved a very weak opposition throughout the season. With 4 wins and 14 losses for financial losses to take, it was not surprising to see the owner willing to sell after just one season, which was done in a rather curious exchange. Ted DIETRICH, owner of the Chicago Blitz wanted to rapporcher of business and decided to buy the franchise in Arizona, by transferring all players, coaches, ...

1984 passed without problem for Wranglers, which in-season, will partner with the Oklahoma Outlaws to form a new team: Arizona Outlaws.

Officialisated during the expansion of the league in 1984, the Outlaws team should never have to meet in Oklahoma, but in San Diego. The franchise hoped to acquire a stadium there but unable to conclude the contract within a reasonable time, she was forced to move to Oklahoma. It was there also not the whole of his matches since they shared with Tulsa.

Sportingly after 8 games, they were 6 wins to two losses ... before line 10 more and show every week as the coach Woody WIDENHOFER and spectators, a chronic inability to move the ball. It is not surprising, therefore, not to find the Outlaws worst statistics in the race!

At the end of the season, ahead of substantial financial losses, it was decided that an association with the Arizona Wranglers to create a new franchise: the Arizona Outlaws.

The various unions that led to the creation of the franchise had a fiancial positive effect on the management team. Indeed, the Outlaws were programming to play a season in 1986 (the first fall) and could shine over a long period without interruption "unexpected" the USFL.

After a difficult year that saw most often on the bench on the lawn, QB Doug WILLIAMS finally managed a good season, helped by a Reggie BROWN in the race. Not quite sure, not enough to play a leading role with only 8 wins and 10 losses, but what to prepare next season ... which will unfortunately never did.
